Effective immediately,
G&W Electric Company, Blue Island, IL, has purchased
the assets of the Hotsplicer Corporation, Waucanda, IL, including
the rights to all
their product lines. G&W will continue to manufacture
the products at Hotsplicer's
facility for the immediate future although plans to move manufacturing
to its ISO
9001 Blue Island facility later in the year.
Hotsplicer Corporation has been a quality supplier of epoxy
resin products to
the electric utility market since 1975. Products include encapsulated
vacuum
switches, current limiting fuses, junction bars, apparatus
bushings, tranisition
modules, and field molded splices.
"The acquisition of Hotsplicer's epoxy resin technology
and existing products
are an ideal compliment to G&W's core competencies in
medium and high voltage
products", explains John H. Mueller, G&W president.
"G&W has been a supplier of
electrical engineered cable accessory and switchgear products
to the utility and
industrial markets since 1905. The addition of Hotsplicer
will immediately expand
our product offering and will play a key role in the technological
advances in our next
generation products."
G&W is a ISO 9001 certified global supplier of SF6 load
and fault interrupting
switchgear; automatic transfer and distribution automation
control packages;
distribution and transmission cable terminations and joints;
and current limiting
protectors through 38kV, 5000A continuous.
