This specification covers the requirements for a transmission voltage, extruded dielectric cable terminations for SF6 Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) applications. The termination design shall be G&W style PATR and suitable for use on single conductor cables through 245 kV. The terminations shall be used on copper or aluminum conductor cable with extruded insulation from 240-2500 mm2 (500 - 5000 kcmil). |
The terminations shall be designed, tested and built in accordance with applicable sections of IEC 840, IEC 859, IEEE 48 for Class 1 terminations, AEIC CS7 and AEIC CS6. The terminations shall be rated:
