PSC Terminations

G&W PSC (Preformed Stress Control) terminations meet all industry requirements and is a Class 1 (outdoor) termination as defined in IEEE 48 standard for high voltage terminations. It contains a porcelain insulator and factory made elastomer stress relief for use on all synthetic solid dielectric cables. Sizes are available for all shielded cables in voltage classes from 2kV through 46kV and conductor sizes through 2000 KCM.

 

Product Features:

  • The porcelain insulator has maximum resistance to moisture, industrial pollution and seacoast pollution. Porcelain is the most reliable insulator for use where insulator dryband arcing may occur.
  • The brass top cap has maximum resistance to industrial and seacoast pollution.
  • O-rings seal the top cap to the porcelain. This is the most reliable and proven seal available in the industry.
  • Connectors are available for aluminum and copper conductor cables.
  • The external connection to the overhead system may be made with a eyebolt, aerial or spade termination connector.
  • All the aluminum lower castings are Almag 35, the most corrosion resistant aluminum alloy available.
  • The termination lower casting makes the cable shield ground connection with no extra parts, straps or soldering.
  • The electric stress control cone is a factory made soft elastomer which also seals the cable shield to environmental moisture.
  • The G&W spring-loaded elastomer filler is the most reliable factory made dielectric system available. The resulting dielectric interfaces have high dielectric strength, prevent ingress of moisture and accommodates the thermal expansion and contraction of the cable.
  • The G&W spring loaded elastomer system is the most reliable method to provide continuous mechanical force to the elastomer, thereby compensating for elastomer permanent set.
