Capnut Terminations

This specification covers the requirements for a cable termination for (bracket) (flange) mounted installation. The termination shall be as manufactured by G&W Electric Co. per product designation Capnut Termination. The termination shall be a (single) (three) conductor unit with shape (B) (B Detachable) (B Plate Mtd.) (C Plate Mtd.). The termination manufacturer shall be ISO 9001:2000 certified.

A. APPLICATION
The termination shall be used on the following cable type:

___  Extruded dielectric, concentric neutral, jacketed or unjacketed.

___  Extruded dielectric, shielded, jacketed including Unishield, wire and tape shielded.

___ Extruded dielectric, shielded, lead jacketed.

___ Paper or varnished cambric, lead jacketed.

B. CONSTRUCTION
The termination shall use high strength, wet process porcelain for external insulation. The porcelain shall be a (petticoat) (corrugated) design for use in an (indoor) (outdoor) (inverted) application. Stress relief cones and insulating compound shall be used to effectively control electrical stresses in the cable. The design shall incorporate interchangeable cable entrance fittings for system flexibility.

C. DESIGN RATINGS AND STANDARDS
Terminations shall meet all the design requirements as specified by IEEE-48, 1975 standards for Class 1 terminations. The termination shall be rated: (select column)
