G&W's High Current Limiter was developed at the request of a major utility. It features interrupt ratings to 120 kA thereby filling a void with traditional fuses limited to 50 kA. This eliminates the need for costly reactors. A primary application is in transformer tertiary winding circuits. It is a backup fuse intended to be applied in series with lower rated interrupters. Overloads are cleared by the lower rated device while major faults are cleared by the limiter.
